You can use a cordless drill in several places in a project. Dragging a cord around can slow you down. Nowadays, the cordless drill has more battery power and power. The chargers for the drills are fast acting and have 2 batteries.

What are the differences in the models of cordless drills?

There are torque and weight differences. It was once true that to have a tool that had a longer lasting battery or if you wanted more power or torque you had to choose the heavier tool. This is still mostly true.

Why is drill weight important?

Obvious reasons. If you use it occasionally for short times, the battery will not matter. It ends up being a good muscle building workout.

What’s important about torque?

Some times screws need to be driven with more torque than usual. Drilling a half-inch hole into hardwood for instance, you will definably need the heavy duty cordless drill with the 18-Volt for added torque. If your drill does not have enough power it will bog down when you try to perform the more difficult tasks. If you are a woodworker then you will certainly need to have a quality cordless drill in your tool box.

Best battery sizes:

When considering the right cordless drill, consider amp hours. 18 volt Lithium Ion batteries are comparable and will last in size and battery. A charger that will charge in a half hour will be awesome.

Cordless drills offer many choices. To save money, don’t skimp on a good drill. You will not regret this. Don’t buy a drill with more power than you need. Take some time to choose the drill that meets your particular needs.

  1. I do believe the most superior hand tool I have in my tool box is the cordless drill, I recently tore out my home and did a total transformation and the hand tool I used by far the most and was really useful was my battery cordless drill. I believe for every project in the house I had the battery charged cordless drill in my hand. There’s no doubt that the reconstruction project would have taken twice the time if I didnt have my ideal hand tool.
