Meanings Of Flowers

Flowers are used for various reasons by people. Different flowers having different meanings, if you go to your local Birmingham florists they will be able to let you know the meanings of different flowers. Red roses are for love. White roses represents the purity of your love. Yellow rose is for friendship. Orange rose as used for the same reason as yellow rose. Pink roses are used as gifts to give away.

Not only roses have meanings there are other various flowers out there which signifies something. Flowers such as apple blossom, cosmos, camellia, aster, daisy and hibiscus have all got meanings.

Here are some examples of what flowers mean.

Aster means happiness

Apple blossom signifies guarantee

Camellia means kindness

Daisy means purity or innocence

Cosmos means calm, quiet and peaceful

Hibiscus means delicate beauty

Gardenia means delight

Striped means negative response

Begonia means deep thinking

Jasmines means elegance and grace

Lilac means first love

Marigold means desire for riches

Poppy means support

Orchid means soft beauty

Pink rose means closeness but in friendly way

Red rose means adoring love

Red and white rose means unity

White rose means clarity

Pink tulip means gentle or helpful

Purple tulip means loyalty

The meaning of white tulip is to say sorry

Ivy means reliability

Holly means domestic happiness

There are various other flowers that have meanings and do feel free to add them in the comment box below, I know I have missed out loads. Flowers are seasonal as we all know, it also has monthly meanings, what I mean is carnation is January, daisy is for April, rose is for June and so on. I am not sure about the other months but I will surely do some more research and get another post for the months.

If you go to your local florists they will tell you why they use white flowers as funeral flowers, coloured flowers for wedding and birthday flowers. Flowers can certainly be an interesting read.
